Campaign Story
You are giving to the blessed people of Palestine, and your donation will, inshaAllah, contribute towards easing some of the immense heartbreaking burdens that they are facing at the hands of an utterly evil occupying entity. We (Ammar, Syafiqah, and Shiba didi) attended a fundraiser in Blackburn, UK on 25th May 2024 (17th Dhu al-Qa’dah 1445); this was an event organised by Revive Darul Arqam, a Muslim charity registered in the UK (registration number: 1187831). The event was geared towards fundraising for the organisation’s emergency aid efforts in Gaza. Revive is a international aid charity founded in 2019, which is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of people suffering in humanitarian crises. Their mission is simple: to provide vital support to those affected by conflict, disaster, and poverty. With a deep commitment to dignity, respect, and compassion, they work tirelessly to ensure that those most in need receive the help they require to survive and thrive. What we found extremely commendable is that unlike other charity organisations, Revive strictly operates through local grassroots networks in their recipient communities, ensuring that aid rightly reaches its intended beneficiaries. In addition to Palestine, the regular work done by Revive extends to Yemen, Syria and Bosnia, whilst also working on the ground in order to address emergencies as and when required. Another key distinguishing pedigree of Revive is that it operates under the guidance and blessings of various leading contemporary Islamic scholars. In fact, the organisation’s founder and director, Shaykh Muhammed Zakir (he spoke at the event we attended), is also a UK-based Muslim scholar who has received training in all the traditional Islamic sciences at the foremost institutions of Islamic learning in the Levant and Yemen. Because of this, Revive is able to partner with a host of key Islamic scholars, who are Shaykh Zakir’s teachers and colleagues (you can find more information here: https://www.reviveda.org/our-team/); these scholars include the likes of Shaykh Karim Rajeh, Shaykh Ayman Shayban, Shaykh Mohammed Rateb Al-Nabulsi, and above all, Habib Umar bin Hafiz, who has been ranked first in the 2024 edition of The World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims (you can learn a bit more about him here: https://themuslim500.com/profiles/habib-umar-bin-hafiz/). We are all fully aware that the illegal entity occupying Palestine has made it extremely difficult for aid to be delivered to the people of Gaza. However, Revive has reiterated that their partnerships with local grassroots organisations and communities in Gaza have enabled them to deliver essential aid and urgent survival needs since both before and after the October 7th incident. Revive is thus an organisation that can be entrusted to deliver aid to our beleaguered brethren in Palestine. We were touched by the organisation’s efforts in ensuring aid delivery to the oppressed, and the three of us therefore pledged to raise at least £5,035 (approximately US$6,405, RM30,000, ₹535,150, SAR24,050, and AU$9,715) – we feel this is an amount we can collectively raise as family and friends in order to provide shelter for displaced Palestinians amidst the constant bombardment that they are facing. We are seeking the support of our beloved family members and friends to donate to this noble endeavour, which is intended to channel aid to the people of Gaza. Your generosity will be life changing for the people affected. Your support will give them hope, and the shelter provided will lift their worries of where their next nap will be taken. Every penny counts and together, we can truly make a difference, inshaAllah. A note on our preferred donation method… We would encourage you all to donate via this webpage using a debit/credit card because your donation will be transferred directly to the charity (i.e. we will not need to act as intermediaries on your behalf); although the currency is GBP, any payment made using a non-UK debit/credit card will also be accepted. However, if you would prefer to make your donation via bank transfer, please contact us via WhatsApp using the details below in order for us to facilitate your donation; please do note that we can only accept your bank transfers in the following currencies: INR, MYR, GBP, USD, AUD, and EUR.
