Assalamualaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh, On our recent deployment to Syria we returned to Ras Al Ayn, a place which has been enjoying the benefits of the water purification plant which was built after our visit earlier this year. Water is now drinkable, farmers are now able to irrigate their crops and feed their animals and the steady flow of people leaving their ancestral homeland has stopped. However there is much work to do. We visited a derelict and bullet hole ridden building which has been earmarked for a revival as a Widows and Orphans refuge centre. Widows and orphans in the area are living without shelter, work and consistent noruishment, the opening of this centre will ensure their basic needs are taken care of so they can divert their time and energy towards creating meaningful improvements in their lives and building a future they can look forward to. It also has the potential to be used as a hub for equipping them with skills, education and building sustainable businesses. We need to raise only £10,000 to prepare this building for use and change the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the blessed lands of Shaam. Once built, we have a plan to ensure the running of the centre will be sustained and consistent for many years to come inshallah. Please donate generously.
